Take up units are bearings specially designed for mounting on frames. This housing configuration lets technicians adjust and maintain conveyor belt tension for maximum operational efficiency. After mounting, take up units are easily movable along the frame, allowing for belts to be replaced, tightened, or otherwise adjusted as necessary — compensating  for shrinkage, stretch, and wear that inevitably builds over time.

Emerson MST/UCTX wide slot, medium-duty take up units offer versatility and uncompromising strength. They are available in corrosion resistant materials that include stainless steel, cast iron, nickel plating, and thermoplastic. Emerson Bearing stocks ER free running inserts in multiple styles. The free running style is a specialized type of ER bearing insert, offering low torque service. We designed these inserts for harsh industrial environments, with flingers built on both sides of the bearing for complete sealing. ER free running inserts operate in extreme temperatures, including -40 to 225°F for standard units and up to 400 to 450°F for high-temperature seals.
